Daily for Monday, March 1st.

Spring is in the air.

It was a beautiful weekend.

Yesterday, walking around the neighborhood our church building in is in, felt more like

April or May than the end of February.

And there's a palpable sense of kind of new life and possibility on the horizon.

But we're still in an extraordinary year plus season of a global pandemic and societal

meltdown or all sorts of levels and a real felt sense of pain and suffering and a kind

of chronic exhaustion that we now carry around in our body.

And on that note, I have some good news for you.

Our reading for today is from Paul's second letter to the church in Corinth, chapter

1 from verse 3.

Let me just read it over you.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and

the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort those

in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.

For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through

Christ.

If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation.

If we are comforted, it is for your comfort which produces in you patient endurance of the

same sufferings we suffer.
