My brothers and sisters, may our Lord be with you.

A reading from the Holy Gospel according to St. Matthew.

Lord Jesus said to the chief priests and the elders of the people,

what is your opinion? A man had two sons.

He came to the first and said,

Son, go out and work in the vineyard today.

The son said and replied, I will not. But afterwards he changed his mind and went. The man came to

the other son and gave the same order. And he replied, yes, sir, but he did not go. Which of the two did his father's will?

They answered the first.

And Jesus said to them, amen, I say to you, tax collectors and prostitutes,

are entering the kingdom of God before you.

When John came to you in the way of righteousness, you did not believe him, but tax collectors

and the prostitutes did.

Yet even when you saw that, you did not later change your minds and believe him.

The gospel of the Lord.

So once again, here's Jesus,

winning and influencing friends and influencing people,

just bringing them all to him.

They hated him.

The good people hated Jesus. That's why they wanted them dead,

and that's why eventually they had him killed, because he told the good people they weren't.

And the unrighteous people in the eyes were so many that they could go to heaven before the good people would
