This is where I sit down sometime during today to share what's on my mind with you and you get to share what's on your mind with me by texting the number 313719. I'm going to look for your

information or I'm going to look for you to text me based off of the topic that I'm going to talk

about today, which is what is going on with My Gear Vault? And before I go too far, if you don't know what My Gear Vault is, you can go to Mygearvault.com.

You can go to iOS or Android and download it. It's a free app that helps you input, organize, and

protect your gear. So you can keep all your gear organized in one location, not physically, but

digitally, entering your serial numbers, taking pictures of your receipts and storing

them, creating kits for gear that you take out with you.

And so it's been around for almost three years now, and we have 150,000 users or so of a free

app, currently free.

And I always talked about it's always going to be free to do this. Some things will

evolve and that's what I want to talk about today. But it's an app that makes sense. The origins of

the app were, I got tired of people saying that they got their gear stolen and they were trying

to have a GoFundMe. Would I support it? And the answer is, no, I won't support your go fund me. Why didn't you have insurance? And then that got me to think that most people don't really

know where to turn to for insurance when it comes to photography gear. But then the issue you run

into where insurance companies are antiquated and old, and we'll get to that in a minute. But we actually

had insurance the day we launched.

We had options for getting coverage, but the company that we used at the beginning was just so

fucking slow at doing anything that it just didn't work right.
