It probably says Sony fail of some kind. I want to talk about the ZV1 launch. I want to talk about

0:30.1

the launch that Sony did, give you some insight input on how I feel about being a part of that launch

0:37.0

and also my thoughts on the camera.

0:39.8

First things first, if you didn't know what the ZV1 was, or shall I say is, the ZV1 is, in essence,

0:47.9

a Sony RX100 Mark 5 reworked into a body to be more of a vlogging camera. It still does stills, but the main focus

0:58.1

is the fact that it shoots video, vloggy style, has a flip-out rotatable screen, whatever

1:05.0

inch that is. It has a one-inch sensor, who cares. It has the 24 to 70-millimeter lens,

1:10.1

goes to F-1.8 at 24, but if you go to 25

1:12.7

millimeters, it's not 1.8 anymore. It has a bunch of other features for vloggers and beauty features

1:18.7

and blurring the background feature, which is just going to 1.8 when you're wide open and

1:24.7

putting the ND filter there if it needs it. So it's a smart camera. The auto focus is

1:29.0

fantastic. The built-in microphones are fantastic. We had issues with the plug-in where it was doing

1:35.3

whatever it was doing out at the top range when I would get loud. It would not sound great.

1:40.4

We talk about that in the review. If you haven't seen the review, please go look at the

1:43.7

review or check it out. Now, one of the misconceptions that people have is that Sony pays us to make this

1:50.5

type of video. And when I say us, I mean the community collectively. In some senses in cases,

1:55.3

there may be situations where there are marketing pushes where people are getting paid. In this

2:00.7

case, for the ZV1, we don't get paid to review it.

2:04.4

What happens is Sony reaches out to you.
