What's up fantasy managers? Welcome back to another episode of the first pitch podcast brought to by

Pitcherlist.com. My name is Jake Crumpler and I'll be your host for this edition of the pod. You can

0:13.1

follow me on socials at Jake Crumpler and can find all of my work at Crumplerb baseball.com. Let's dive

0:19.3

into everything baseball related from Monday,

0:22.1

April 27th. We'll start it off, as always, with the transactions, injuries, news and notes

0:27.2

from around the league. And boy, do we have a lot of news today? And we could probably do a podcast

0:32.9

just about news on this one, but I'll make sure to get you some of the notable performances

0:37.9

from yesterday as well as looking forward to today. Let's start off with the bad news on the

0:45.0

injury front as designated hitter, John Carlos Stanton, was officially placed on the 10-day

0:49.5

IL with a calf strain. It's a low-grade strain, so Stanton should miss the minimum time, but it's

0:54.7

John Carlos Stanton, so he's likely to recover slowly, and the Yankees will not rush him back. Jason Dominges will be the everyday DH for the Yankees moving forward. Max Schumann was recalled from the minors in a corresponding move, and will perform for the team off the bench. Next, we have starting pitcher Kodi Senga, who was placed on the 15-day IL with a lumbar

1:14.4

spine inflammation.

1:16.5

I think the Mets were debating whether or not to just option him to the minors, but they'll

1:21.3

take their chances and send him to the injured list instead.

1:24.6

And I wouldn't really expect the Mets to bring Senga back until he truly

1:29.0

excels in the minors. He's really just struggled way too much for them to just rush him right

1:34.0

back once he's technically healthy. So it could be a lengthy rehab for Kodai Senga. Starting pitcher

1:40.0

Christian Scott was recalled for the minors in a corresponding move. And he'll start on Friday in Anaheim.

1:46.0

And I think Scott is somebody that's going to be worth rostering his stuff, graded out really well in his return to the majors last week.

1:53.2

And I feel like once he gets his control under control, then Scott's going to take off.

1:59.4

Next, we have third baseman Max Muncie of the A's, who is placed on the 10-day I.L with a fractured hand. He's headed for an extended absence, and I'm pretty sure Muncie fractured his hand on a hit-by-pitch in mid-April. He's really struggled since then just has not been able to hit the ball or hit for power at all.

2:18.6

So hopefully this time on the injured list will allow the A's Max Muncie to come back stronger than ever and continue what looked like it was going to be a breakout season for Muncie.
