We'll start it off as always with the transactions, injuries, news and notes from around the league, kicking things off with the bad news.

As outfielder, Harrison Bader was placed on the 10-day IL with a hamstring strain.

Bader injured his hamstring in spring, but he's tried to play through it this year, and it's resulted in a

negative 7 WRC plus.

So it was a bad idea to do that.

But good thing he's going on the IL and will hopefully return stronger.

That's Harrison Bader to the 10-day IL.

The Giants also placed outfielder Jared Oliva on the 10-day aisle with a hamate fracture, so he's

likely headed for surgery and missing several weeks. Outfielders, Will Brennan and Drew Gilbert were

recalled from the minors in corresponding moves. Gilbert will be on the strong side of a center

field platoon that would see Zhang Hu Li shifting to center field versus lefties to allow Gerard

Encarnacion to enter the lineup

in right field.

Next, we have relief pitcher Zach Popp, who was placed on the 15-day aisle with a calf strain,

and relief pitcher Kyle Backus was recalled for the miners in a corresponding move, and he will

fill in at the back end, or guess the front end of the Phillies bullpen.

He's going to be pitching low leverage is to say.

Backus is a lefty.
