My name is Trevor Hooth, and we got news.

We got games.

We got a full slate of games to talk about, rather, today.

So, finally we jump right in.

Starting with the news, of course, the White Sox have optioned Jonathan Cannon and recalled Wilcomen Gonzalez.

This means that they are down to starter.

They're going with a bigger nine-man bullpen.

Jonathan Cannon had a 5.34 ERA on the season.

Not a ton of strikeouts, gave up a lot of home runs. Eventually,

soon, it will be Martine Perez returning to that White Sox rotation. I was kind of hoping when I

first saw the news that maybe a prospect would be called up. Maybe we see Noah Schultz. I don't

know. We're kind of getting to that date. I think it's either August 14th or 15th where players will still be, prospects will still be eligible for rookie of the year next year, which could get the team of picks. So we're going to start seeing some of those prospects coming up after that date. However, in this case, Martine Perez likely to return as Jonathan Cannon goes

down, Wilcombe and Gonzalez was recalled by the White Sox in the interim. San Francisco has

selected the contract of Drew Gilbert and DFA Daniel Johnson. Drew Gilbert was just acquired

by the Giants in their Tyler Rogers trade with the Mets.

He was a former first overall or first round pick by the Astros.

He was traded to the Mets and the Verlander trade a couple years ago and now traded again.

He was right after he was drafted in 2022, 2023.

He was in back end of top 100 prospect lists.
