Let's dive into everything baseball related from Tuesday, July 22nd.

We'll start off as always with the transactions, injuries, news and notes from around

the league kicking things off with the bad news as second baseman Brandon Lowe was placed on

the 10-day IL with ankle slash foot tendonitis.

It's possibly plantar fasciitis as that was the initial designation, but apparently it is tendonitis across his whole foot area.

That's Brandon Lau.

He just returned from a week-long IL stint four days ago.

So pretty unlucky injury luck recently for Lao.

This one may be a short stint, but we'll see how things turn out.

It looks like Hacian Kim, Taylor Walls, and Jose Caballero will split time as they're all expected to see time at second base and around the field.

In other raised news, they acquired outfielder Stuart Fairchild via trade from the Brave, so he will factor in, likely against left-handed pitching.

Next, we have closing pitcher Tanner Scott, who was placed on the 15-day IL with elbow inflammation,

tough blow to the Dodgers bullpen, but ultimately they'll be fine.

They have so many options in that bullpen.

Alexis Diaz was recalled from the miners in a corresponding move, but I'd expect Kirby Yates

and Alex Vessia to see the bulk of save opportunities for the Dodgers

with Scott on the IL.
