We'll start it off as always with the transactions, injuries, news and notes from around

the league, kicking things off with the bad news as starting pitcher Ryan Berger was placed

on the 15-day IL with a forearm contusion after being hit by a comebacker on Tuesday.

X-rays came back negative on Berger's arm, and that means the results of those x-rays were positive, meaning that he doesn't

have any structural damage or any fractures or breaks to that forearm. So he should be back in the

minimum time. That's Ryan Berger. In a corresponding move, relief pitcher, Sean Reynolds was recalled from

the miners, but one of Kyle Hart or Matt Waldron is likely to replace

Berger in the San Diego rotation.

Our other aisle placement involves outfielder, Jordan Walker, who is dealing with appendicitis

and is likely to undergo an appendectomy.

He had just returned from the IL two weeks ago after missing two weeks with a wrist injury.

Looks like Alec Berluson, Lars Neupar, and Nolan Gorman will see more consistent

playing time for the Cardinals with one less platoon partner to compete with.

In terms of transactions, starting pitcher Max Scherzer was activated from the 60-day

IL to start in Cleveland.

He had been out for the entire year with a thumb injury that is expected to affect him

for the rest of his career.

In his Blue Jay's debut, Scher tossed five innings, allowing six hits and three-run runs.

While walking three and striking out four, he induced seven whiffs with 30% CSW across 83 pitches.
