October is the anniversary of Weird Darkness, and we celebrate by raising funds to help people

who suffer from depression.

Catherine sent in a donation during a previous overcoming the darkness campaign and said,

I wish your podcast had been around several years ago.

My brother would have loved it, and maybe he wouldn't have felt so defeated.

Rob committed suicide in October 2012, leaving devastated family and friends.

I hope this donation gets the help and support they need, and understand others want them

to stay in their lives.

We all know someone who struggles with depression, whether we know it or not.

It's something that those who suffer tend to deal with in silence, in the shadows,

but the organizations we are supporting with our annual overcoming the darkness fundraiser

this month are working to make it easier for those in the darkness to come into the light,

to find help, and to learn that they're not alone, that there are ways to overcome the darkness

and live normal lives. I'm evidence of that myself. I too suffer from depression.
