Grant we beseech the Almighty God that, like as we do believe thine only begotten Son,

our Savior, to have this day ascended into the heavens,

so we may also in heart and mind there ascend, and with him continually dwell.

Today's meditation, the sacred procession to heaven.

On this, the solemn feast of the ascension, we are invited to reflect on the mysterious moment when Christ,

having completed his earthly mission, ascended into heaven. This event is not just the end of

his physical presence with his disciples, but the beginning of a new phase in the history of salvation,

one in which the Holy Spirit would guide the church and the faithful until his return.

We witnessed this moment through the eyes of the disciples. Those 120 blessed souls

gathered at the foot of Mount Olivet, some still in awe of the resurrection, others questioning

what the future holds. Yet, despite their confusion, there's a profound sense of peace that accompanies

Christ's departure. He is not abandoning them, but rather he's preparing them for what is to come.

The ascension is not a moment of finality, but a transition. Christ's return to the Father

signifies his full glorification and the completion of his earthly mission.

For the disciples, it marks the beginning of their own mission to spread the good news of salvation to the ends of the earth.
