So let's talk about a man who went from flashy court life to barefoot preacher almost overnight,

St. Norbert. Born in 1080 into a noble German family, Norbert had everything

going for him. He was charming, clever, and well-connected, eventually landing a spot at the

Imperial Court of Emperor Henry V. Life was pretty comfortable. But Norbert, though technically

a subdeacon, wasn't exactly living like a future saint,

more like a fashionable clergyman enjoying the perks.

Then came the turning point.

While riding through a storm, Norbert was struck by lightning and thrown from his horse.

That moment shook him to his core.
