Hey, it's Ryan. Welcome to another weekend episode of the Daily Dad podcast. My son goes to this

little school one day a week out here in the country in Texas. And it's like an adventure school.

They do stuff outside. They have a fire pit and they have a rope swing and they slide in this little

creek and play and get dirty and learn how to

track animals and make things out of leaves. It's a really fun, awesome thing. And then on the way

out there the other day, we stopped at this little garage sale. They go on Fridays. And so

we stopped at this little garage sale that's sort of out in this sort of dusty corner intersection out there. And it's just a little garage sale. And I've got him this fire truck toy that was for sale. And the two women who were putting it, there was an older woman and her daughter, and they were both clearly Mennonites. And as they were sort of ringing me up and asking why we were in the area, I asked, oh, are you guys

Mennonites? We started talking about this. And I said, is there a Mennonite church out here? And they were telling me about it. And I asked if it had been here a long time. I didn't know there were a number of them out in the area. I didn't know if this has like historically been like thing from in Texas. I didn't know anything about it.

So I was just, you know, making small talk and it was interesting.

I think the woman interpreted that I was more interested in like attending a Mennonite church than I was. She said, here, let me get my card. She sent her daughter to get this little like card or flyer for their church and she handed it to me and she said, if you ever want to come, you're welcome, we'll have you any time. It's very nice. My kids were both in the car.

I'd roll down the windows so they could look in the garage show, but didn't have to take them in and out of their car seats. And my son goes, he said, Dad, dad, I was like, what? He said, no. I said, no, what? He said, we don't want to go to church. And I said, shh, clerk, you talk about this later.

And I said, dad, we don't want to go to church.

Church is boring. to church. I said, shh, clerkie, talk about this later. And I said, dad, we don't want to go to church.

Church is boring. And I was, of course, mortified. And I don't think the lady quite heard, but it was a very

strange conversation because we don't go to church. And I've never taken my kids to church.

And so I baffled that they got this idea that church is boring.

And first time I was mortified because this isn't a thing my son had to share. And so we had to have

a talk about how you can keep certain opinions about what other people do to yourself.

But I was just sort of where did this come from? And as I sort of tried to explain to him,
