Google said it's testing end-and encryption for RCS-based group chats on its messages app.

The company noted that in the coming weeks it will be rolling out this feature to select users that are part of the app's open beta program.

This comes after a bunch of Redditers noticed that Google was testing

and encryption for group chats in October.

The company's latest announcement makes it official.

The search giant first started testing end-to-end

encryption for individual RCS chats in 2020. Next, Space Company Astra's

management team is undergoing another shakeup. The company said Friday that Chief Engineer Benjamin Line has resigned after just short of two years

in the role.

Rather than seek a replacement for that position, Astra promoted four key staff to management positions that will now directly report to CEO Chris Camp and other C-suite staff.

Astra hired Lyon in February 2021 after a two decade plus career at Apple.
