Here's your daily crunch. Toyota Motor is joining other major automakers and putting its money behind electrification. It said Monday it would invest 3.4 billion dollars in battery development and production in the United States through the end of the decade.

The location hasn't been announced.

In other news, Zooks, the autonomous vehicle startup acquired last year by Amazon,

is expanding to Seattle.

The company plans to open in 2022 an engineering office and operations facility which will act as a base for its autonomous vehicle testing.
