Here is your daily crunch. Neil Young is threatening to pull his music from Spotify over concerns that the company's

exclusive deal with podcaster Joe Rogan is helping

fuel the anti vaccine movement. Spotify bought exclusive rights to the Joe Rogan

experience in 2020 in a deal worth north of $100 million.

The company has faced criticism over its relationship with its star

podcaster for a number of reasons since the Inc dried on the deal,

including controversies over Rogan's pension for making transphobic remarks

and hosting guests critical of the transgender community.

In other news, flock federated learning of cohorts, Google's controversial project for replacing cookies for interest-based advertising by instead grouping users into groups of users with comparable interests is dead.

In its place Google today announced a new proposal, Topics.

The idea here is that your browser will learn about your interests as you move around the

web. It'll keep data for the last three weeks of your browsing. your with plans to extend this over time. Google notes that these topics will not include any sensitive categories

like gender or race.
