and bad news and it all relates to Kyle Green as the five-year Iowa State assistant coach

took the U&I head coaching job a place where he spent 16 years as an assistant coach,

raised his kids there, watched his son become a U&I Hall of Famer,

and have his number retired in the rafters of the McLeod Center,

an all-around win for Kyle Green,

an outstanding guy, an outstanding coach, and someone who has absolutely earned this opportunity,

and a home run hire for you and I. There's no doubt it's a short-term loss for Iowa State

as they lose a great coach, a great recruiter, and the maestro of the Iowa State defense that has

become one of the best in all of college basketball. But still, it's a good sign that Iowa State

has had two coaches in this offseason become head coaches elsewhere. T.J. Outserberger made a statement

to you and I. Kyle Green has earned this. He has taken our defense to

another level over the last five years, and I'll be forever thankful to him for that. Our program
