It's highs in the upper 80s all week here in Iowa, which means it's a great time to hit up Whiskey River, especially the rooftop patio right around sunset.

It is the best time a year for that, and always a good time at Whiskey River in Ankeny and in Ames.

We've got so much news to hit on today because it has been a few days since our last Daily Clone,

and a lot has happened since then for the slow part of the year. And let's just start by giving

a shout out to the Iowa State women's golf team. The best finish in program history, the

cycloneitas finished ninth at the NCAA tournament. They were just one stroke off of being in the

top eight, which would have qualified them for match play on the final couple

days of the tournament. Still, what an accomplishment for that squad, and they made everyone

proud. It's been fun to see how that program has ascended the last couple of months, and we'll

see where it goes from here. Emily Ryan has been promoted to assistant coach of Iowa State

Women's Basketball, the Cyclone great player. It started last year as a graduate assistant

and worked her way up to an assistant coach filling an open spot left on the staff. Ryan, of course,

was essentially an assistant coach while she was playing on the court just an awesome player

an awesome person and it'll be cool to see her elevated into that role from what bill fenley said at

the tailgate tour it sounds like ryan has essentially already been on staff the way that she's

been recruiting the way that she has been building relationships and the way that the team looks up to her.
