| 0:41.0 | Statistics Canada released a new report today concerning some of the country's most recent economic data and how they have fared in light of the coronavirus pandemic. |
| 0:49.0 | In the first quarter of 2020, Canada's annualized GDP contracted 8.2%. This number is |
| 0:55.4 | slightly better than what was expected. Economists were predicting a 10% decline, |
| 0:59.6 | but an 8.2% contraction in Canada's GDP on an annualized basis during the first quarter |
| 1:05.8 | is steeper than the US, whose output contracted 5%. Statistics Canada also released |
