who died this week and some of the controversy and drama surrounding his death.

Eric Dane, a.k.a. McSteamy from Gray's Anatomy has died at 53, less than a year after revealing that he was diagnosed with ALS.

So amiotrophic lateral sclerosis is ALS.

Or Lou Gehrig's disease for us regular people.

Who calls it that anymore, honestly?

No one.

But it's when the motor neurons that are coming from your brain and spinal cord are damaged

and they are not, they're degenerating and they're not interacting with your muscles properly.

And when you start first presenting with symptoms, it's just like a low grade muscle weakness, but it progressively gets worse.

And usually in a pretty quick period of time.

And you soon, like, lose the ability to move all of your voluntary muscles.
