this is the peak,

home day, and the journey of this week. I guess this is the peak, Humpday.

It's all downhill from here, into the valley of the weekend.

Not into the valley of darkness, into the valley of the weekend. But we're here moving

our way through this week that we said was shiny and sparkly.

How are we doing?

Whether we're managing well or managing poorly, we're in the right place. We're here together

around the global campfire, taking another step forward, allowing the

scriptures to be a part of our story and informing how our story goes.

And so I'm glad that we can have this time.

We're in the book of Isaiah right now kind of just getting going. There are

66 chapters in the book of Isaiah. Today we will read two of them chapters 8 and 9.

The Lord said to me,

The Lord said to me, take a large scroll and write on it with an ordinary pen.

Mahar, Shalal, harsh, baz.

So I called in Uriah the Priest and Zachariah son of Jabariah

as reliable witnesses for me. Then I made love to the prophetess and she conceived and gave birth to a son.

And the Lord said to me, name him Mahrher Shalal harsh Baz.

For before the boy knows how to say my father or my mother, the wealth of Damascus

and the plunder of Samaria will be carried off by the King of Assyria.

The Lord spoke to me again.
