Today is the 16th day of October. Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. I am Brian. It's

great to be here with you today. And every day we come together like this for one reason

to take the next step forward in the adventure that is the Bible and to do it in community.

So we will be picking up what we left off yesterday, which will lead us further into the

book of Jeremiah. And then when we get to the New Testament reading, we will be beginning

a new letter from the Apostle Paul. Paul's first letter to his son and the faith and

protege Timothy. But first, Jeremiah chapter 28 verse 1 through 29 verse 32.

In that same year, early in the rule of King Zadakaya of Judah, in the fifth month of his

fourth year as King, the prophet Hanna Naya, son of Azur from Gibbian, spoke to me in the Lord's

temple. He said to me in front of the priests and all the people, this is what the Lord of

armies. The God of Israel says, I will break the yoke of the King of Babylon. Within two years,

I will bring back all the utensils of the Lord's temple that King Nebuchadnezzar of

Babylon took from this place and carried off to Babylon. I will also bring back to this place,

Jehoyakin, son of King Jehoyakim of Judah, and all the captives of Judah who went to Babylon

declares the Lord. So I will break the yoke of the King of Babylon. The prophet Jeremiah replied

to the prophet Hanna Naya in front of the priests and all the people standing in the Lord's temple.

He said, Amen. May the Lord do this. May the Lord make your prophecy come true and bring back the

utensils of the Lord's temple and all the captives from Babylon to this place. But now listen to

this message that I am speaking to you and to all the people. Long ago, the prophets who preceded

you and me, prophesied wars, disasters, and plagues against many countries and great kingdoms.

But the prophet who prophesied peace was recognized as a prophet that the Lord sent only if the

message of the prophet came true. Then the prophet Hanna Naya took the yoke off the neck of the
