| 0:00.0 | Today is the third day of October. Welcome to the daily audio Bible. I am Brian and it's |
| 0:11.2 | great to be here with you today as we gather around the global campfire and move forward |
| 0:18.0 | together. So we have moved into a new week, we have moved into a new month. Now today, |
| 0:26.8 | as we finish the book of Isaiah yesterday, we're moving into a new book in the Old Testament. |
| 0:33.9 | We'll also be concluding a letter in the New Testament today, so movement is happening. |
| 0:43.6 | So when we get to the New Testament, we'll finish the book of Philippians. But now, here at the |
| 0:49.6 | beginning in the Old Testament, we have reached the beginning of the book of Jeremiah, |
| 0:56.4 | which is a part of the grouping of books known as the major prophets, just like Isaiah. |

| 1:46.0 | then this happened, then this happened, then this happened. Jeremiah is a book of prophecy. |
| 1:50.7 | So it's like this as well, but it's intriguing because we get a glimpse more into Jeremiah's mindset. |
| 2:00.0 | And he does not want to be doing some other things that he's invited to do, |
| 2:06.8 | especially at the time that he's invited to do them. And so there's an authenticity to Jeremiah |
| 2:12.4 | that we get to understand. And we get to see the frustration of a prophet who thinks nobody's |
| 2:19.1 | listening and he just wants to be released from the mission. And he wasn't just making it up, |
| 2:25.2 | Israel had turned her back on God. And for more than two decades, Jeremiah was one of the only, |
| 2:32.9 | if not the only voice warning the people that the direction they were going in wasn't going to |
