Today is the 20th day of May. Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. I'm Brian. It is great to

be here with you today as we reach the conclusion of another week. As we move through today's

reading and they just go by day by day step by step week by week month by month and then

all of a sudden we find ourselves in May. We find ourselves in some other month and it's like

the year just began but here we are and we're here to take the next step forward and the next step

forward leads us back into the saga of early Israel and Israel's first king, Saul and this boy who

had to grow up fast who has also been anointed to be a future king named David and Saul

is relentless efforts to destroy and kill David before well before he believes that his household

will be destroyed by David and we're learning a lot about the character of people as we watch this

story and we're learning a lot about the the places that the roads lead by the choices that we make

and so let's pick up the story today first Samuel chapter 26 27 and 28

the ziplights came to Saul at Ghibbia and said do you know that David is hiding at the hill of

Akhala which is near the Badlands so Saul set out and went down to the wilderness of Zif with

three thousand men who were specially chosen from Israel to search for David in the wilderness of Zif

Saul set up camp near the road at the hill of Akhala which is near the Badlands

David however stayed in the wilderness when David heard that Saul had come into the wilderness

to search for him he sent out scouts who confirmed that Saul had come so David moved out and came to

the place where Saul had set up camp David saw where Saul was sleeping near Abner son of Nure the

commander of his army Saul was sleeping inside the defensive perimeter of the camp and the rest of

the man were camped around him David responded to the situation by saying to a Himalek the Hittite

and to Joab's brother Abeshi son of Ziraya who will go down with me into the camp to Saul
