Today is the 13th day of May.

Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible.

I'm Brian. It is wonderful to be here with you today.

As we gather like we do each and every day show up for each other

we're here we've shown up for each other and we're gonna take this next step

forward together in the scriptures that leads us of course to where we left

off.

We're in the book of First Samuel right now.

And we're in this really interesting transitional time in the life of ancient Israel.

They have a king.

This has not been the way that their society has been organized up until this point, but

they want to be like everybody else.

The season of the judges, those centuries,

they were pretty difficult.

So they want a supreme leader, and they have one. His name is Saul and we're starting to learn about Saul.

And so today, 1st Samuel, Samuel, Chapter 14.

One day Saul's son Jonathan said to the young man who carried his armor,

Come on, let's go over to the Philistine Garrison that is on the other side.

But he did not tell his father Saul who was staying on the outskirts of Gibia

under the pomegranate tree that is in

Migron. The people who were with Saul amounted to about 600 men including

A Haijja son of a Heidube. A Heidube was the brother of Icabod and the son of Phineas, who was the son of Eli,
