It is great to be here with you today.

Grateful that we can gather, as we do every single day.

Out of whatever's going on, coming into this little safe oasis

that we create a space for each other every day, safe,

a place for repair, a place to let all of the layers and all of the chaos and all the things that we kind of have to pull apart and fix and navigate.

I mean, we have to do all that, but we don't have to do that all right now.

We're here for some direction to allow the scriptures to speak into our

lives. And this is a safe place for that. So let's do it. We are in the book of Deuteronomy.

Moses' last speeches or his last discussions with the children of Israel before he, well,

before he's no longer their leader anymore.

These are the important things that he has to say to the people that he has led and given his life to.

Today, Deuteronomy chapters 7 and 8.

Okay. Today, Deuteronomy chapter 7 and 8. When the Lord your God brings you into the land you are entering to possess and drives out before

you many nations, the Hittites,

Gurgishites, Amorites, Canaanites, Parasites, Hivites, and Jebizites, seven nations larger and

stronger than you.

And when the Lord your God has delivered them over to you and you have defeated them, then you must destroy them totally.

Make no treaty with them and show them no mercy. Do not intermarry with them. Do not give your
