Welcome to a brand new shiny, sparkly week out in front of us. It's all there. Let's remind ourselves nothing is

ruined yet. We have choices and we can make good ones and let's go ahead and do that and a really good choice for us as we attempt this

is to immerse ourselves in the scriptures and allow them to speak into our lives.

And so we have been working through the Book of Numbers.

We've accomplished this really interesting story with King Balak of Moab and this man

named Bailham who was summoned to curse Israel.

And just kind of the nuances of that story.

So we're continuing on from there today.

This week we'll read from the New English translation.

And today, Numbers. New English translation and today numbers chapter 26 verse 1 verses 1 through 51

after the plague the Lord said to Moses and to Eliezer son of Aaron the priest

Take a census of the whole community of Israelites from 20 years old and upward by their clans,

everyone who can serve in the Army of Israel.

So Moses and Eliezer, the priests spoke with them in the rift valley plains of Moab along the Jordan River across from Jericho.

They said, number the people from 20 years old and upward just as the Lord commanded Moses and the Israelites who went out from the land of Egypt.

Rubin was the first born of Israel.
