Today is the 17th day of March. Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. I am Brian. It is wonderful

to be here with you today as we continue our journey. I take you in the next step forward

in the scriptures picking up right where we left off. Gathering around the global campfire

to be together as we take this next step forward. And our next step leads us back into

the book of Numbers. Today we will read Numbers 26 verses 1 through 51.

After the plague, the Lord said to Moses and to Eleazar the priest, take a census of the

whole congregation of the Israelites from 20 years old and up by their ancestral houses,

everyone in Israel able to go to war. Moses and Eleazar the priest spoke with them in the

plains of Moab by the Jordan opposite Jericho saying, take a census of the people from 20 years old

and up as the Lord commanded Moses. The Israelites who came out of the land of Egypt were Rubin, the

firstborn of Israel, the descendants of Rubin, of Hanok, the clan of the Hanokites, of Palou, the clan

of the Palouites, of Hezran, the clan of the Hezranites, of Karmee, the clan of the Karmites.

These are the clans of the Rubinites. The number of those enrolled was 43,730

and the descendants of Palou, Alayab, the descendants of Alayab, Nemuel,

Daithen and Abiram. These are the same Daithen and Abiram chosen from the congregation who

rebelled against Moses and Aaron in the congregation of Korah when they rebelled against the Lord

and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them up along with Korah. When that congregation died,

when the fire devoured 250 men and they became a warning, notwithstanding the sons of Korah did not

die. The descendants of Simeon by their clans of Nemuel, the clan of the Nemuelites,

of Jameen, the clan of the Gemmonites, of Jakhine, the clan of the Jakanites, of Zira, the clan of

the Zera Heights, of Shal, the clan of the Shalites. These are the clans of the Simeonites, 22,200.
