Today is the 14th day of March. Wow. I mean we're coming up on the middle of this month. That

happened fast. How are you today? It's great to be here with you. I am Brian, right? I guess it probably, this is one of those days. This is one of those days. I'll leave the mic on so that you can know that this happens,

but I probably shouldn't be talking right now.

Probably should be drinking coffee for a few more minutes.

Nevertheless, here we are around the global campfire together.

It's great to be here with you today.

It's a privilege to join, glad to see you.

I'm glad we can take this next step forward. And that is going to bring

us back into the Book of Numbers. And we'll start out going out to the city of Arad in the wilderness.

This place that still exists until this day.

And it was a pretty significant walled city.

A lot of those walls still remain, but you can definitely see kind of what was going on in the ruins there.

So let's dig in, chapter 21 verse 1 through 22 verse 20 today.

When the Canaanite, the king of Arad, who lived in the Nogab, heard that Israel was coming by the way of Aparim, he fought against Israel and took some of them captive.

Then Israel made a vow to the Lord and said,

if you will indeed give this people into our hands,

then we will utterly destroy their towns.

The Lord listened to the voice of Israel and handed over the Canaanites,

and they utterly destroyed them in their towns,

so the place was called Horma.

From Mount Hore they set out by way to the Red Sea to go around the land of Edum, but the people became discouraged on the way.

The people spoke against God and against Moses.
