Today is the 9th day of March. Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. I am Brian. It is fantastic to be here with you today as we gather to take the next step forward together.

As always, the next step leads us to the place where we left off. That will lead us back into the book of Numbers.

Today we will read Numbers 11 verse 24 through 13 verse 33.

And just by way of reminder, we are in the wilderness with the children of Israel. Uh, who are complaining about having to eat manna?

And Moses had been complaining about having to do the job that he's doing of leading these people.

It is a burden that is crushing him. And so we take up the story Numbers 11, 24 through 13, 33.

Moses went out and told the people the words of the Lord. He brought 70 men from the elders of the people and had them stand around the tent.

Then the Lord descended in the cloud and spoke to him. He took some of the spirit who was on Moses and placed the spirit on the 70 elders.

As the spirit rested on them, they prophesied, but they never did it again. Two men had remained in the camp. One named Eldad and the other me-dad. The spirit rested on them.

They were among those listed but had not gone out to the tent, and they prophesied in the camp.

A young man ran and reported to Moses, Eldad and me-dad are prophesying in the camp.

Joshua, son of Nun, assistant to Moses, since his youth responded,

Moses, my Lord, stopped them, but Moses asked them, are you jealous on my account? If only all the Lord's people were prophets and the Lord would place his spirit on them,

then Moses returned to the camp along with the elders of Israel.

A wind sent by the Lord came up and blew quail in from the sea. It dropped them all around the camp.

2:41.0

They were flying three feet off the ground for about a day's journey in every direction.

2:47.0

The people were up all that day and night and all the next day gathering the quail.

2:54.0

The one who took the least gathered 60 bushels and they spread them out all around the camp.

While the meat was still between their teeth, before it was chewed, the Lord's anger burned against the people,

and the Lord struck them with a very severe plague. So they named that place Kibralt-Etava,

because there they buried the people who had craved the meat.

3:20.0

From Kibralt-Etava, the people moved on to Hazarot and remained there.
