I am Brian. It is wonderful to be here with you today. As we gather here at the Global

Campfire and move forward another step together. Yesterday we started 2nd Kings.

And it wasn't a big fanfare about that. I mentioned that 1st and 2nd Kings were all one

manuscript and they were broken apart for ease and so we are just kind of continuing the story

of the Kings. But we did see Elijah taken by a chariot of fire into heaven and Alisha now has

this prophetic mantle that Elijah had as basically as the like lead prophetic voice.

And so let's dive in and take the next step forward and say that all the time even though I'm

mixing my metaphors. Let's go forward together. 2nd Kings chapter 3 verse 1 through 4 verse 17 today.

In the 18th year of the reign of King Jehoshaphat of Judah,

Jorum, son of Ahab became king of Israel and he ruled in Samaria for 12 years.

He sinned against the Lord but he was not as bad as his father or his mother Jezebel.

He pulled down the image his father had made for the worship of the Bale.

Yet like King Jeroboam son of Nebat before him he led Israel into sin and would not stop.

King Misha of Moab raised sheep and every year he gave as tribute to the King of Israel 100,000

lambs and the wall from 100,000 sheep. But when King Ahab of Israel died Misha rebelled against Israel.

At once King Jerum left Samaria and gathered all his troops. He sent word to King Jehoshaphat of Judah.

The King of Moab has rebelled against me. Will you join me in war against him?

I will, King Jehoshaphat replied, I am at your disposal and so are my men and my horses.

What route shall we take for the attack? We will go the long way through the wilderness of

Edom, Jehorm answered. So King Jehorm and the kings of Judah and Edom set out.
