Today is the 14th day of June. Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. I'm Brian. It is wonderful to be together again as we gather in our place here this place we make and

create it this global campfire I'm glad we can be together today.

Welcome.

It's good to be here.

So we do this every day, so we're kind of following stories and right now we're in the Old

Testament we're following this story the children of Israel they did have a really fine hour of unity and prosperity, but it's

fallen apart. And so the kingdoms, like the tribes have divided into two different kingdoms.

And we're learning about that.

And there's this man, his name is Gera Bowen,

and he's become the king of Israel in the north.

And there's this other man, Rehoboam.

And he is the king of Judah in the south.

He's King Solomon's son.

So he has a right to a throne, and these ten tribes are like in rebellion to the House of David,

but they don't really care, they don't feel like they have any

inheritance in David so that's got to get sorted out and that's where we are first

kings chapter 12 verse 20 through 13 verse 34.

When all Israel heard that Gera Boam had come back, they summoned him to the assembly and made him king over all Israel.

No one followed the house of David except the tribe of

Judah alone. When Rea Boam arrived in Jerusalem, he mobilized 180,000 fit young soldiers from the entire house of Judah and the tribe of

Benjamin to fight against the house of Israel to restore the kingdom to Rehoboaum of Solomon but the word of God came to

Shimaya the man of God say to Rehaboa son of Solomon king of Judah to the whole house of Judah and Benjamin and to the rest of the people.
