It is great to be here with you today and every day that we get to spend together.

All the time that we have here at the Global Camp Fire is good time. It's good time spent, good time spent in community, good time spent

in life as we allow the scriptures to speak to us. And so, let's do that.

Working our way through the book of Second Chronicles at this point.

And we're getting into this divided kingdom section now that Solomon has died and his son

Rayhaboam has taken control of the throne.

There's another man named Geraoam and the kingdoms are dividing and we've gone

through this as we went through the books of kings but we're going through it

again taking more priestly view and a later view of

of this time period. And so here we go, Second Chronicles, chapters 11, 12, and 13 today.

When Raya Boam arrived in Jerusalem, he mustered Judah and Benjamin, a hundred and

eighty thousand able young men to go to war against Israel and to regain the kingdom for Rea Boam. But this word of the Lord came to Shumaya, the man of God.

Say to Rea Boem, son of Solomon, King of Judah, and to all Israel in Judah and Benjamin.

This is what the Lord says.

Do not go up to fight against your fellow Israelites.

Go home, every one of you, for this is my doing."

So they obeyed the words of the Lord and turned back from marching against Geraboa.

Reaboa lived in Jerusalem and built up towns for defense in Judah. Bethlehem, Itam, Tikoa, Betzur, Soko, Adulum, Gad, Marinsha, Zif, Adorem, Lacish, Azika, Zora, Aishelalan, and Hebron.

These were fortified cities in Judah and Benjamin.
