Today is July 23rd. Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. I am Brian. It is great to be here with you today.

Gathering once again around the global campfire, once again coming in out of the chaos of life, creating an oasis of safety together.

All we have to do is show up and let go.

Show up and surrender.

Not to the manipulation of each other or anyone else, to the scriptures

and their voice of truth in our lives.

I truly safe place in the midst of so much going on in this world today and in all of our individual

stories. I am grateful for you. Grateful to have this place.

We all need it.

I need it so much.

I am so grateful that we can take another step forward together.

And that next step forward leads us back into the book of Second Chronicles, where we are once again revisiting

the story of King Solomon in traveling along with him, even as in the New Testament we are

working our way through Paul's letter to the Romans.

So let's jump in. Second Chronicles, Chapter 8, verse 11 through 10, verse 19 today.

Solomon moved his wife, the daughter of the king of Egypt, from David's city to a house he built for her.

He said, she must not live in the palace of King David of Israel because any place where the covenant box has been is holy.

Solomon offered sacrifices to the Lord on the altar which he had built in front of the

temple. He offered burnt offerings according to the requirements of the law of Moses for each holy day.

Sabbaths, New Moon festivals, and the three annual festivals, the festival of unleavened bread, the harvest festival, and

the festival of shelters. Following the rules laid down by his father David, he organized the daily

work of the priests and of the Levites, who assisted the priests in singing hymns and in doing their work.
