I am Brian.

It is fantastic to be here with you today, like every day. It's wonderful to be here as we do what we do gather

together, release the cares of this life, allow the scriptures to come into our hearts move forward together

allowing them to speak to us, speak truth into our lives and transform us,

as well as continue the journey, it never ends.

It is a grand adventure through life and through each year of it.

And so we have wound our way into the book of First Chronicles at this point

And we're learning about the duties of the priests

First Chronicles chapter 24 verse 1 to 26 verse 11 today.

This is how Aaron's descendants, the priests, were divided into groups for service.

The sons of Aaron were Naidab, Abihuu, Eliezer, and Ithamar.

But Nadab and Abihu died before their father, and they had no sons.

So only Eliezar and Ithamar were left to carry on as priests.

With the help of Zadoc, who was a descendant of L.A.

And of a Himmelac, who was a descendant of Ithamar, David divided Aaron's descendants into groups according to their various duties.

Eliezer's descendants were divided into 16 groups and Ithamars into 8, but there were more family

leaders among the descendants of Eliezer.

All tasks were assigned the various groups by means of sacred lots,

so that no preference would be shown,

for there were many qualified officials serving God in the sanctuary
