I am Brian. It's great to be here with you today,

here at Daily Audio Bible for the next step forward.

On the big, big trip, the grand adventure through the Bible, every bit of it,

all of it, nothing left out. We are moving into the story of Joseph at this point, and we met

Joseph. He's young. He's a teenager. A bit arrogant. He has these dreams and

really, really offends his family, especially his brothers, because he's interpreting him

in such a way that he's superior and that they will bow down before him.

Even his father, who loves him, like he's a favorite son, is confused by some of this.

It's like, yeah, you think we're all going to bow down to you someday.

So his brothers hate him.

And they have faked his death. And so his father, Jacob, Israel, is mourning his dead son.

What really happened is that his brothers human trafficked their brother and sold him. And Joseph has ended up

in Egypt. And that's where we pick up the story. Genesis chapter 39 verse 1, 2.41 41 verse 16.

Meanwhile, Joseph had been delivered to Egypt and turned over to Potiphar, one of Pharaoh's court officials

and the commander-in-chief of the imperial guards.

An Egyptian, he bought Joseph from the Ishmaelites who had brought him down there.

But the Lord was with Joseph.

He became a very prosperous man while in the house of his Egyptian master,

who could see that the Lord was with Joseph, because the Lord made everything prosper that Joseph did. That's how Joseph pleased Potipher

as he served him. Eventually, Potterfer appointed Joseph as overseer of his entire household.
