Today is the first day of February.

Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible.

Welcome to a brand new, shiny, sparkly month.

Month two of our journey together that takes us through the whole year and through the whole Bible.

So we are ending a week and beginning a month.

And we take note of these things.

Even every week we take note of these kind of resets, restarts.

Kind of helps us move forward and not be overwhelmed.

So welcome to a brand new restart.

As we move into month two of our journey,

and we've moved all the way from the beginning of the Bible,

from the first chapter, the first verse.

And now we are in the book of Exodus,

and we have come a long way in the Old Testament.

Well, we have context for what it is for the story that we are reading,

the story of the children of Israel, who have just been set free from slavery,

and are moving out into the wilderness.

And the book of Matthew, well, we're reaching the conclusion or the climax of that story.

And that is the story of Jesus' life and ministry on earth.

And he is in Jerusalem and he's not going to get out alive.

I mean, he is, but not before he experiences human death.

So quite a ways of journeying through that first month.
