I am Brian.

It's great to be here with you today on, I guess, New Year's Eve Eve, right?

We are down to it.

We are about to dock and disembark from this year.

Of course, we have to board a new ship sailing out for a new year,

and we'll be sailing out again.

But we are, well, we are where we are.

The week in between.

The week where we get really reflective naturally.

Because this new beginning is coming.

And we wanted to look a certain way.

And so we make our New Year's resolutions, and we think deeply.

And while we're thinking deeply, the scriptures are certainly irreplaceable.

I was going to say invaluable, but I guess I would go so far as to say irreplaceable in the life of a believer in looking forward

to what is yet to come. So that's where we are. Where we are in the Bible is that we are about

to encounter the final book that we will encounter.

The book of Malachi, which is the final book in the Old Testament,

and the last of the minor prophets,

the name Malachi means my messenger,
