It is wonderful to be here with you.

It's with a grateful heart that we come back into each other's presence and create this safe place

that we call the global campfire and I am glad to be here every day. I'm glad that we show up

for each other every day and take another step forward. And as we take the steps forward through the month of December,

more often than not, we're reading, like we're moving into new territory

or reading an entire book.

Because the minor prophets have come upon us in these final days.

That is how the Old Testament ends.

Today is no difference.

We will read the ninth book of the minor prophets,

the 9th of 12 in its entire today.

It's a book called Zefaniah.

And as with a lot of the other minor prophets

in this grouping of books,

we don't know very much at all about who Zephaniah was.

The only substantial information we have

is found in the first verse of the book.

Says the Lord gave this message to Zephaniah and Josiah,

son of Emon was king of Judah.
