Today is the 8th day of December.

Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. I am Brian.

It's fantastic to be here with you today as we greet a brand new, shiny, sparkly week.

Here as we navigate our way toward the end of the year and through this holiday season.

So we're in this season on the Christian calendar, the season of Advent.

And Advent leads us through the four Sundays leading up to Christmas.

Advent means arrival.

And so we talked about this last week.

It's putting our heart in a place of longing.

It's understanding that the people who were in a great darkness saw a great light.

Like they were longing for a Savior to come.

And then the Savior came.

So we put ourselves in that position of longing for the Advent,

for the arrival of the Savior. And we realize that we have a lot in common because that is

what we long for. The arrival, the return, right? The arrival of the Savior.

And so that kind of postures our hearts.

And there are Advent calendars for each day.

All kinds of, it's like all kinds of tradition around this for millennia.

This is the second Sunday of Advent as we move toward Christmas.

And so this week's theme is preparation, right?

Faith.
