Today is the 31st day of January. Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. I'm Brian. It's great to be back here with you today. So wow, last day of the first month and the last day of a week. So we are definitely bringing things in for our landing here on the first month of the year.

And as we do customarily here, just to kind of keep ourselves self-aware, here we are at the end of a week.

And we all stood and looked out over this week before it happened.

Now we reflect back on how that all went as we bring this first month

of the year to a close and that gives us an opportunity to kind of look back at the first month

of the brand new year because we started it with all kinds of ideals and goals. How are we doing?

Which is not to say if if we haven't done so well that there should be shame-heaped upon us.

It's not about that condemnation or anything like that.

It's about self-reflection.

It's about simply being honest about how we're doing so that we can continue

to grow and improve through honesty and truth as opposed to trying to mask and curate and

fake everything, even trying to fake ourselves out,

to just be honest about where we are, about how we are, which allows us then to be truthful

with ourselves about our own growth. So let's spend some time thinking those things over today.

As we continue to move forward and continue to move forward in the scriptures,

we're kind of coming down to it here in the book of Exodus, with Pharaoh and his unwillingness

to let the Hebrew people go, which God has demanded and is punishing the Egyptian people for holding on and humiliating Pharaoh in the process.

Exodus chapter 12, verse 14 through 13, 16 today.

This is a day you are to commemorate. For the generations to come, you shall celebrate it as a festival to the Lord, a lasting ordinance.

For seven days you are to eat bread made without yeast. On the first day remove the yeast from your houses.

For whoever eats anything with yeast in it from the first day through the seventh

must be cut off from Israel.
