Today is the 16th day of February.

Welcome back. Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. I am Brian.

Coming to you again from the kind of the shores of the Sea of Galilee.

And we will be spending some of, well actually all of our day around the Sea of Galilee today, really, really

chasing in the footsteps of Jesus yesterday. We were up on the Golan Heights and looking

forward to sharing all about that in a little bit. We are up here at the top of our time together,

and so we're at the beginning. We will be heading back into the wilderness with the top of our time together, and so we're at the beginning.

We will be heading back into the wilderness with the children of Israel, but we will not be

heading back into the Book of Exodus. We concluded the Book of Exodus yesterday.

So that brings us to the third book of the Bible, the third book of the Torah, the book of Leviticus.

And we're going to generally pick up where we left off.

In the coming days, we'll spend time witnessing the giving and the implementation of this law that is being given to Moses.

And if we'll pay attention, we'll see themes in the law.

God wants to be known.

He was weaving who he is and their identity and where they've come from into the fabric of their new culture.

He wanted to interact, he wanted fellowship, but the path to intimacy with God would come through holiness.

And that's a pretty religious word through holiness.

And that's a pretty religious word, holiness.

Well, let's just remind ourselves that it's not so complicated.

It means set apart, wholly devoted to God.

So holiness is no less important or fundamental in relationship with God today than it was for the ancient Hebrews. So let's head back out into the wilderness and pick up the story,

Leviticus, chapters one, 2, and 3 today.
