Today is the 21st day of August. Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible.

I'm Brian. It is great to be here with you today again as we gather around the global campfire.

A little cup of coffee here, kind of personally up early this morning, watching the sunrise, trying to live into what the

scripture says. There are new mercies every morning and so here we are.

It is a shiny sparkly new day. I mean we say that every week, but it's it's a new day.

And I think that as we get into what we're going into today,

we'll see it's a new day.

We're changing complexions as we move forward in the scripture

and we're gonna kind of move into. as we've moved forward in the scripture and

we're going to kind of move into some territory that we haven't really been in yet.

We concluded the book of Esther yesterday.

That brings us to the book of Esther yesterday. That brings us to the book of Job. And Job is very different than any of the other books that we've encountered up to this point. It is known to be one of the most beautiful pieces of literature in the Bible.

Actually, he's pretty well revered as one of the most beautiful pieces of literature in history, it deals with the problem

of evil and of human suffering and it cries out the questions that we have probably

encountered right like why me encountered, right? Like, why? Me? And then wrestling and groping and clawing for an

answer to that's

it's complicated. It's really complicated.

Job's origins as as literature as the manuscript are disputed because there's not a whole

lot of historical context in the book and the book doesn't name any it names people only people but there

are any historical figures that can be tracked and give clues.

And so there's a lack of context there that leads,

well, I mean, it leads to all kinds of assumptions, right?
