Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible.

I'm Brian, it's wonderful to be here with you today,

as we gather again and keep going another step forward we

we're moving fully into the book of judges at this point and kind of seeing the layout everybody's

doing what's right in their own eyes and watching this back and forth and then a

judge emerges to lead the people.

And this is how things were in the in between.

The children of Israel had this really strong leader in Moses,

and then a really strong leader in Moses and a really strong leader in Joshua and the two of them

together over those generations pulled the people together brought the

promised land into being but after the people were settled in the promise land

into being, but after Joshua died and the people were

settled in the promise land, he did whatever was right in their own eyes.

The book of judges keeps telling us that and so we're seeing what

that looks like that's kind of the point this is what that looks like and we're

seeing what happened in the different people that that arose to lead the people after Joshua and that will lead us through the generations that lead to the point where the children of Israel are like we're done with the judges we need a

king and we'll get there in a bit but first judges chapters four and five.

The Israelites again did what was evil in the sight of the Lord after I had died. So the Lord sold them to King

Jabin of Canaan, who reined in Hatzor. The commander of his army was Cicero who lived in Hreseroth of the nations. Then the Israelites cried

out to the Lord because Japine had 900 iron chariots and he harshly oppressed them 20 years. Deborah, a prophetess, and the wife of Lippidot, was judging Israel at that time.

She would sit under the palm tree of Deborah between Rama and Bethel in the hill country of Ephraim,
