| 1:17.7 | ancestors who had brought them out of Egypt. They followed other gods from the surrounding peoples |
| 1:23.7 | and bowed down to them. They angered the Lord for they abandoned him and worshipped Bale and the |
| 1:29.9 | Astorets. The Lord's anger burned against Israel and he handed them over to Marauders who raided them. |
| 1:39.9 | He sold them to the enemies around them and they could no longer resist their enemies. |
| 1:45.6 | Whenever the Israelites went out, the Lord was against them and brought disaster on them, |
| 1:50.6 | just as he had promised and swore to them. So they suffered greatly. |
| 1:57.0 | The Lord raised up Judges who saved them from the power of their Marauders, |
| 2:03.0 | but they did not listen to their Judges. Instead, they prostituted themselves with other gods, |
| 2:08.5 | bowing down to them. They quickly turned from the way of their ancestors who had walked in obedience |
| 2:14.9 | to the Lord's commands. They did not do as their ancestors did. Whenever the Lord raised up a |
| 2:22.6 | judge for the Israelites, the Lord was with him and saved the people from the power of their enemies |
| 2:28.3 | while the judge was still alive. The Lord was moved to pity whenever they groaned because of |
| 2:35.1 | those who were oppressing and afflicting them. Whenever the judge died, the Israelites would act |
