Today is the 13th day of April. Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. I am Brian. It is wonderful

to be here with you today as we gather once again around the global campfire and find our

places, get cozy and take the next step forward together. And our next step leads us back

to where we left off. And that leads us back into the book of Joshua. We're just getting

going. We've crossed the Jordan River. We're in the promised land. The walls of Jericho have

fallen. They've gone to the nearby city of I to conquer it and were routed and fled.

And this caused great mourning until the Lord said the reason that this is happening is because

you've already broken covenant with me. You've already disobeyed someone has taken what

has been forbidden and has made everyone guilty. And that is where we pick up the story today.

Joshua chapter 7 verse 16 through 9 verse 2 today.

Early the next morning, Joshua brought the tribes of Israel before the Lord and the tribe of Judah

was singled out. Then the clans of Judah came forward and the clan of Zira was singled out.

Then the families of Zira came forward and the family of Zimri was singled out. Every member of

Zimri's family was brought forward person by person and Akin was singled out. And Joshua said to

Akin, my son, give glory to the Lord, the God of Israel by telling the truth. Make your confession

and tell me what you have done. Don't hide it from me. They can reply. It is true. I have sinned

against the Lord the God of Israel. Among the plunder I saw a beautiful robe from Babylon,

200 silver coins and a bar of gold weighing more than a pound. I wanted them so much that I took them.

They are hidden in the ground beneath my tent with the silver buried deeper than the rest.

So Joshua sent some men to make a search. They ran to the tent and found the stolen goods hidden

there just as Akin had said with the silver buried beneath the rest. They took the things from the

tent and brought them to Joshua and all the Israelites and they laid them on the ground in the presence
