Games often break down into historicals or fantasy sci-fi. Some

few games branch into that most niche of niche genre's alternative history. With Japanese

max-attacking U.S. Marines in the South Pacific and the always popular evil magic-wielding Nazis

against the Star Wars purists of the Alliance, this twisting of real history seems to fill a hole in the spirits of geeks everywhere.

Question.

In a nation where half the high school students can't find the real Germany on a map of the world,

does alternative history melews do more damage than their fun quotient can justify?
