Two Israeli embassy employees were fatally shot in Washington, D.C.

Let's get you caught up with today's seven stories.

Last night, a young couple was leaving an event at the

Capitol Jewish Museum when a gunman opened fire, killing them both. Yaron Lyshinsky and

Sara Lynn Milgram were both staffers at the Israeli embassy in D.C. They were identified by the

State of Israel's ex-account.

Police said that a suspect, 31-year-old Elias Rodriguez, was in custody.

D.C. police chief, Pamela Smith, spoke to reporters at a news conference a few hours after the

shooting. Prior to the shooting, the suspect was observed pacing back and forth outside of the museum.

He approached a group of four people, produced a handgun, and opened fire striking both of our decedents.

After the shooting, the suspect then entered the museum and was detained by event security.

Authorities said that after the shooting, Rodriguez chanted Free Free Palestine.

John Ellison witnessed the incident.

He spoke to Sky News after the shooting.

And he ran inside and yelled something.

I couldn't make it out what he said.

He just ran up.

It was terrible.
