0:00.0	Hello, my friends, and welcome back. Today we get to go on a temple tour.
0:04.0	And I, for one, am excited about it. Now, it's not going to take forever because there's only one temple to tour, and that's the Curtland Temple.
0:10.3	We are in 1836. The first temple of this dispensation has just been built, and we are now ready for its dedication.
0:18.3	That's Section 109, the dedicatory prayer, where Joseph Smith
0:22.6	actually received this prayer by way of revelation. So in some ways, we're back to our childhood
0:27.0	where our parents are whispering in our ear what we should be praying for. In this case,
0:31.7	it's the Lord whispering in Joseph's ear. This is how you dedicate a temple. Here's what you should, here's some blessings you should
0:37.8	ask me for. And in some ways it's just a masterpiece. Now as one who loves scripture and one
0:44.6	who really loves architecture, this is quite the combination of places. 109 will be the prayer.
0:50.2	110 is its aftermath. There's one week between the two. March 27th, 1836, the temple is
0:58.3	dedicated, and then one week later, Easter time and Passover time, April 3rd, 1836, some heavenly
1:06.3	manifestations take place, and those are all recorded in section 110. So just two revelations, or two sections today, but talk about going hand in hand.
1:15.4	In some ways, we're asking for blessings in 109, and those blessings are coming in 110,
1:21.7	in ways far beyond anything that probably even Joseph Smith imagined.
1:25.4	Now, if you're anything like me, you thrill every six
1:28.3	months at President Nelson's announcements of new temples being constructed. When I was young, it was
1:35.1	President Hinckley. And he seemed to be breaking all of Spencer W. Kimball's records. And now it's
1:39.9	President Nelson's turn to break all of President Hinckley's. We are dotting the earth with these houses of the Lord.
1:46.0	And to think about, could the saints have had any idea, the pace at which we are building
1:51.7	temples today, when it took so much time and effort and sacrifice to be able to build
1:57.9	the very first one?
