Hey Jimmy. Howdy, Don. On November 24, 1971, 50 years ago this very week, a man calling himself

Dan Cooper, boarded a plane in Portland, Oregon. He was taking a short 30-minute flight to Seattle,

but when the plane took off, it was the beginning of a multi-hour ordeal. Cooper revealed himself to

be a hijacker and he demanded hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash. Then, Donning a parachute,

he jumped out of the airplane and into the night and he's never been seen since. So who was Dan

Cooper? How did he execute this daring plot and what happened to him afterward? That's what we'll

be talking about on this episode of Jimmy Akin's mysterious world. So Jimmy, let's start off by

clearing up something people may be wondering about. In the opening segment, I referred to the man

at the center of today's mystery as Dan Cooper, but almost everyone knows him as DB Cooper. So

what's the why the difference? It's because the media screwed up. As I've noted, especially today,

the media is not very good at its job. And even though it was better at its job in 1971,

it still had lots of screw ups. And this was one of them. The, when the man who purchased his ticket
